Stemming from a cold viscous evolution, this series questions our place in a large cosmos where the eternal meets the snapshot. On a geological time scale, minerals behave like liquids, according to scientists. These paintings, which are both fluid and static, illustrate the ambivalence between the stillness of the moment and longer-term change. They are an invitation to contemplative meditation, with each one confronted for a moment by the emptiness of astronomical times and the apparent stillness of a landscape in perpetual change.
