In utero, which was Silvère Jarrosson’s first monographic exhibition at Galerie Hors-Champs, marked a new stage in his career: first the first time, he went beyond mere haphazardly mixing of liquids, and began showing structure, albeit of a simple nature (mainly stripes and spots). This also marks the first appearance of the white background that became a hallmark of his work in subsequent years.
Silvère Jarrosson was invited to represent France at the French stand at the Macao International Contemporary Art Fair. At this occasion, Macao businesswoman and collector Angela Leong bought the largest artwork presented.
The French Consulate General at Macao published an account of the exhibition.
At this first exhibition in the United States, in 2015, Life Gallery in 27th Street deliberately chose to present Silvère Jarrosson’s more youthful works, which demonstrate a certain pristine freshness, free from any predefined pictural context. Stress was laid by the curator on undulation (hence the title)and vibration as
initialmovements, prior to any subsequent elaboration of complexification.
Silvère Jarrosson’s first group exhibition at Galerie Hors-Champs. This was followed by two other individual exhibitions in 2016 and 2017. At this initial event, canvases from his first series were presented with the work of six other artists, with Hannibal Volkoff, the gallery’s director, providing remarkable curatorial expertise.
